RB: Please tell us what it is you do and a bit about your backgrounds.
T&T: Steph grew up in Pitlochry, Scotland drying flowers as a child and making centrepieces for family dinners at her gran’s. She went off to Glasgow to study Multimedia Technology and in 2010 came to Toronto on a work visa where she met the love of her life and decided to stay.
Annie grew up in Ottawa, Ontario collecting stickers as a child and participating in mini-fashion shows with her elder sister as both parents were fashion designers. She went away to the University of Guelph where she studied Hospitality and after finishing school moved to Toronto with her now husband. Annie and Steph met planning a fundraising event for the Arts Market where Steph now works. Annie now co-owns a pastry catering company, Agouti.
T&T: When Annie was getting married last summer, she asked Steph to help make flower crowns for her Bridesmaids and Flower Girls. The two received such positive feedback that they decided to set up their own mini-wedding company with their prime focus being on flower crowns and headpieces for the big day!
RB: What is your favourite part of your job?
T&T: Steph – Providing an affordable yet beautiful product and working closely with a good friend, feeding off of each other’s creativity and suggestions.
Annie – Being able to work for myself and working with various mediums and colours and exploring my creative side.
T&T: Both of us thoroughly enjoyed working on Annie’s wedding. From shopping for and sourcing the flower-crown components to seeing them come together for the big day. It was such a personal project and it was ultimately the beginning of Twill & Thistle.
T&T: Gold (the Twill and Thistle logo), sage green and pink (we both agree on these which is a good sign on the compatibility and fluidity of the team behind Twill & Thistle J ). **sidenote: Ladies, we totally agree!!**
RB: Please let ReBash guests know what they can expect from you at the show!
T&T: Rustic, one-of-a-kind hairpieces, headbands and flower-crowns and a few other key décor items you maybe wouldn’t have thought of!
