RB: Tell us what you do!
SBG: I am the owner of Shortie Bread Girl. Shortie Bread Girl is a Toronto business that bakes, delivers and caters cookies! These “shorties” are made from an old family recipe – I then put my spin on these shorties by topping them with every deliciousness you can imagine (milk chocolate, mint, chocolate toffee, s’mores, peanut butter crunch, and cookies and cream to name a few). Not only do these shorties come in very chic packaging, they are mind blowing, melt in your mouth kind of experience, perfect for gift giving or catering dessert bars!
RB: How did you get started?
SBG: They started off with my signature chocolate and as friends and family started ordering by the dozens, the nickname 'Shortie Bread Girl' came into action! Over the years I have experimented with different flavours (some which didn't work so well: chocolate wafer) others thrived (chocolate almond crunch!). I make sure to stay relevant and include seasonal flavours either in the dough (pumpkin spice) or in the chocolate (chocolate Chanukah gelt and peppermint bark). As we are growing and continuing to offer gifts and cater events, we are now expanding into bakeries and restaurants!

RB: Tell us about a fun project you’ve worked on.
SBG: A really fun event I did was catering a cookie bar for the boy band Four Count. I really love the set up for events because it allows me to be creative and explore new ideas.
RB: If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life…
SBG: I could live on hamburgers for the rest of my life and I am actually part of a burger club. If I had to choose one thing, it would be a reuben Po'boy from Parkway Tavern in New Orleans. It is probably the best thing I have ever eaten in my life... if you don't believe me check it out! Even Obama is a fan!
