Tell us about your business/craft.

Touch of Heart is an online store that specialized in personalized wedding hangers and wire cake toppers. Over the last few months I’ve been introducing custom hangers for other occasions (baby showers, graduations, new pet owners), personalized seasonal items (wreaths and ornaments) wire bouquets and table numbers.

How did you get started?
I wanted to give my matron of honour and bridesmaids a unique gift to say thank you for being part of one of the biggest moments of my life. Everything I looked at was out of my price range so I thought, “why not create a hanger with their names done in wire writing?” After many attempts and almost as many fails I found something that I was happy with. The girls loved them. Not only did it add a special touch to our dress photos, it was something original and handmade. After seeing how they turned out, my now husband encouraged me to continue making them for other brides.

Picture

What is one thing people may be surprised to find out about you?

I don’t like fish! Most people find that strange because I was born and raised in a small town in Nova Scotia.

What is your favourite piece out of your own collection and why?
My favourite piece would be my pearl and rhinestone covered hanger. Previously I had only made pearl and rhinestone hangers. I love the elegance of the pearls and rhinestones combined.

Who/what inspires you?
My husband! Without his support I would never have been able to start my own business and have it expand as much as it has. He encourages me to keep going and not give up with designs don’t turn out the way I envisioned them.

Picture

What can guests at ReBash expect to see from you at the event?

Guests attending ReBash can expect to see me there making custom hangers and cake toppers on the spot.

A very cool way to store your beautiful wedding gown or to gift to your girls! Check out Touch of Heart at ReBash at 99 Sudbury St. in Toronto on May 15th 2016 - get your tickets here!

Guests at ReBash can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee from mobile cafe, Macchina Mobile, who will be onsite for Toronto's Raddest Wedding Market on Sunday May 15th. Cutest little truck and will be right beside some sweet treats - a dynamic duo if we ever saw one! Not to mention, how adorable would this mini truck be stationed at your own event! Get your tickets to come and shop the beautifully curated market and enjoy some yumminess from Macchina Mobile.

Picture

Tell us about your business.
Macchina Mobile Cafe brings the experience of a European piazza cafe to your event. Our Classic menu provides your guests with their favourite espresso based drinks built upon our custom roasted artisanal beans and includes non-dairy and iced lattes, cappuccinos, cortados and Americanos. We can also custom stamp our single serve cups with your logo.

How did you get started?
Macchina was born out of our love for the simple pleasure of drinking an awesome coffee on a sun drenched patio, and the desire to make that available anywhere.

Picture

What is one thing people may be surprised to find out about your company?
It may surprise people to know that we run silent! No noisy generator, no diesel fumes - the only sound you'll hear will be the sound of fresh beans being custom ground for your shot.

What is your favourite thing about your business and why?
Though our favourite thing about Macchina is the vintage Piaggio Ape that serves as the platform for our cafe, a close second is the beautiful Astoria lever espresso machine. It's a throwback to the Fellini's Italy and pulls shots that are rich in the beans' natural oil. This gives the coffee a full, nutty taste and a rich texture.

What can guests at ReBash expect to see from you at the event?
ReBash guests can put their feet up at our one of cafe tables, and enjoy the sites as they power up to do the rounds!

We are excited to experience a little bit of Europe at ReBash on May 15th! Tickets are for sale online here...can't wait to see you there too!

Moonrise Letter Lights, aside from having a super cute and catchy name, create custom handmade marquee lights. Get lit (see what we did there?) with Moonrise Letter Lights and wow your guests with these stunning decor elements.

Tell us about your business/craft.
Our marquee lights are handcrafted with a tremendous amount of love by a team that is passionate about lighting up life. Inspired by the classic marquees that adorned the famous Hollywood theatres of the early 20th century, Moonrise letter lights illuminate celebrations of every kind- from modern to vintage and wherever else your creative juices may take you.

How did you get started?
Moonrise emerged from a DIY decor project that co-creators and life team mates, Jamie and Vincent, crafted for their own wedding. Their magical forest venue needed outdoor lighting, so what better way to literally spell their love in lights than with a marquee! Guests of J + V were swept away by the unforgettable romantic vibe that filled the air from their AMORE letter lights.

Picture

What is one thing people may be surprised to find out about you?

One surprising thing about this co-creator duo, or probably not surprising if you know them, may be their 14 year high school sweetheart relationship. Best friends navigating life together who absolutely do believe in that young, forever kind of love.

What is your personal favourite piece out of your own collection and why?
A personal fav in the Moonrise collection has to be the marquee arrow that hangs in the front hall way of our home. It brightly invites friends and family in to join the epic board game and food eating hangouts that we love so much.

Picture

Picture

Tell us about your business/craft.

Armando and Phillip is a men's accessories company. We specialize in custom ties, bow-ties, pocket squares, and lapel pins for weddings and other special occasions.

How did you get started?
My cousin was getting married and her now husband wanted his wedding to be unique. There were not a lot of options for this crafty groom, so he asked me to create ties and bow-ties for himself, his father, and the father of the bride. The more I thought about it during the process, the more I wanted to pursue this as a business.

Picture

What is one thing people may be surprised to find out about you?

People may be surprised to know that I really like Hall and Oates and I went to see them in concert at Casino Rama in 2014!

What is your personal favourite piece out of your own collection and why?
My favourite piece would be the dinosaur lapel pins (that you can get in the ReBash giveaway bag!). When I was creating these pins, I thought all the ways that a wedding could be customized. I imagined that there were two people who met at museum. They wanted that memory to be a part of their wedding, and what better way than dinosaur lapel pins!? There are so many memories and so many stories behind all the couples that get married, and these can lead to a variety of ways in which they can add their own special touches to their special day. Lapel pins are definitely one of them!

Picture

Who/what inspires you?
Armando and Phillip was named after both of my grandfathers. These two men took a big chance and immigrated from Italy to Canada with the idea of creating a better life for themselves and their families. I could not be more grateful for their strength, bravery, and courage. They are the inspiration behind everything I do.

What can guests at ReBash expect to see from you at the event?
Guests at ReBash can expect to see handsomely handmade ties, bow-ties, pocket squares, and lapel pins. We will also have some unique found items!

Be sure to check out these accessories at ReBash on Sunday May 15th! Just a reminder that our Flash Sale ends tonight. Click here to get $2 off your online tickets!

Vendor Profile: Always, by Amber

We are suckers for stationery and paper goods, so we are so happy to be welcoming always, by amber to ReBash on Sunday May 15th, 2016. Amber will be selling her custom stationery goodies at Toronto's Raddest Wedding Market and we hope you'll join us to see her lovely work in person!

Picture

Tell us about your business/craft.

always, by amber specializes in wedding, bridal and baby shower paper goods and decor - from wedding invitations, to escort cards, table numbers, guest books, baby shower memory books, bridal shower invitations and everything in between! I love working with clients to bring their visions to life! The shop is ever expanding so new items are added all the time. Absolutely everything is 100% handmade, so there's a lot of love that goes into everything I make!

How did you get started?
Ever since I was a little girl I've always loved to make things. Chances are if you've ever received a gift from me, it was handmade - so naturally, starting my own business has always been a dream of mine. When I got engaged in 2014 and started making everything for the big day, I really fell in love with all things wedding. At the same time that I was planning my own wedding, I decided there was no better time to open up my online shop. At first I featured predominately paper products like wedding invitations and guest books, but I've since expanded to included wedding decor, as well as both baby and bridal shower items. After receiving so many compliments from family and friends that attended our wedding, I was really encouraged to keep going with my business, so here I am today!

Picture

What is one thing people may be surprised to find out about you?

Hmmm, this is a good question. Despite doing this for over a year now, this will actually be my first time ever participating as a vendor at a show. I'm really excited to be joining ReBash's team this year and can't wait to meet some awesome people!

What is your personal favourite piece out of your own collection and why?
I have a lot of favorite items, but I think for me a lot of it comes down to colour combinations. I LOVE rustic weddings, so some of the kraft and lace invitation suites I offer are always a favourite. I also love both grey and yellow and grey and blush invitations - they are such beautiful color combinations. And (non-wedding related), my baby shower guest books and memory books are always fun to make!

Picture

Who/what inspires you?

I am inspired by small business owners - it's not easy to go out and market yourself. Running your own business is a lot of work, but it's so rewarding. I can't help but feel incredibly flattered when a couple chooses me to create their wedding invitations or a someone purchases a guest book for a baby shower. It might sound a little cheesy, but it really is an honour to create items for such special occasions!

What can guests at ReBash expect to see from you at the event?
I will be displaying a lot of paper goods (wedding invitations, save the dates, guest books, table numbers, escort cards) as well as paper goods and rustic wedding decor items for purchase! I also plan on sneaking some baby shower goodies in there too! If you're attending the show and want me to create something customized for you to bring to the show, please give me a shout ! You can also follow me on Instagram and Facebook! Can't wait for May 15th!

ReBash Alumni Update: Big Ass Pinata

3/30/2016

Picture

If you were at last year's event, you'll definitely remember the spunky and super fun, bad ass #girlboss who runs Big Ass Piñata. Michelle is back this year and badder than ever with some fresh new breakable fun for your big day! See what she's been up to here...

Picture

What's your latest project?

I recently completed a big ol' booty that got some serious #instalove as well as a reproduction of a #bigasspinata #signature #diamond #engagementring #pinata
Each were approximately 36 inches wide and a literal ton of fun to design, make, shoot and ship. These designs are #bap originals and trust me when I say, #ilovethisjob

Picture

Can you tell us about new products or services that you're offering?

At last year's show you saw three wedding cake piñatas that introduced the idea of a fun party starter slash wedding idea to today's bride and groom.

This year I'm taking that idea and going crazy with it, to show everyone from bearded and braided hipsters to stilettos and suits that my cakes and designs come correct with bold colors and style that push the envelope.

After spending a year researching and collaborating with amazing brands, business owners and designers, I want people to see piñatas for the art they truly are.

Picture

What will be new at this year's ReBash?

I'm going off trend in black, gold and blush to give guests a taste of the dramatic (because we all know I'm about drama ) in wedding cake piñatas, and my trademarked miñatas which are THE way to go for wedding announcements, favors, bridal party thank yous and general tiny fun.

It's not a party till you break something.
Come by and say hello. You know you want to.

Picture

For a ridiculously fun party starter to your celebration, you can't go wrong with a Big Ass Piñata. Smashing something is also a great way to relieve yourself of all the planning stress, though they're so pretty it's a shame to break them up! Get your online tickets here (did you know we're having a Flash Sale until April 4th? Enter discount Code REBASHFLASH for $2 off!).

Vendor Profile: The Gilded Cage

Picture

Sandra
is bringing her many talents to ReBash for our one day only Wedding Market with The Gilded Cage as well as her photography business. Check out her lovely work here!

Tell us about your business/craft.
In addition to a successful wedding photography business, I have launched a "sister" company that features carefully curated vintage treasures that focus on wedding gifts. Items such as vintage depression glass, rare China, bone handled knife sets and vintage engagement rings. It seemed like a natural fit as I see what wedding couples are looking for, and it's usually something that is anything but cookie cutter!

Picture

How did you get started?

Having a huge love of vintage treasures, I am always on the lookout for lovely things. My great grandfather had an antique store in Scotland, and I was fortunate enough to have a few things passed down that to this day are my favourite possessions. I still think of my grandmother and what things she would want to own as she had great taste!

Picture

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

People may be surprised to find out that I nearly became a professional singer. I was offered a full scholarship to university for music and I sometimes still question whether I should have done it.

Picture

What is your favourite piece?

My favourite piece is something I will never sell. It is a vintage candy dish my grandmother used to keep sugar cubes in. I was allowed to have one every time I had a visit.

What inspires you?
I am inspired by soooo many things. I have to say my biggest inspiration are my clients. I am so blessed to be able to share their most special day, and I love hearing the speeches about who they are and what makes them so special. I also love to take photos of their inner beauty. Capturing the emotion of the their wedding day in truly a privilege.

Picture

What can ReBash guests expect on May 15th from you?

It is my hope that visitors to ReBash will see what my clients have come to expect from me... Out of the box, unique, beautiful and anything but cookie cutter treasures!

We are so excited to not only see the beautiful vintage treasures that Sandra will be bringing to ReBash, but also her gorgeous photography work!

How did you get started?
My love for baking began when I was a kid in my parents kitchen. I would pore over dessert recipes and bake whenever I could (or when I was allowed to!).

Picture

What is one thing people may be surprised to find out about you?

My love for 80's new wave music knows no bounds.

What is your personal favourite piece out of your own collection and why?
My current favourite is the birthday cake I made for my daughter's 2nd birthday. It's a 3-tier bright and bold chocolate drip cake and I had so much fun making it. She loved it--which is what matters the most =)

Who/what inspires you?
I find inspiration in people and the world around me. I could find inspiration in a song, in a piece of jewellery or through someone's personality. Inspiration is everywhere. You just have to be open to it.
